MyPetSays FAQ: is large breed puppy food different to puppy food (+other questions answered)

Welcome to this very first MyPetSays FAQ post, where we share our answers to some questions we get asked. If you're curious about anything regarding our pet foods feel free to reach out to us via email (hello@mypetsays.co.uk) or Instagram!

Is there any difference between our standard puppy food and large breed puppy food?

Large breed puppies have a different growth curve due to the size they'll eventually get to. Therefore they have different nutritional requirements.

If large breed puppies grow too rapidly, they risk some serious issues with their bones, joints and muscles. Which is why we have foods designed to support the controlled growth of large breed puppies.

Our Grain Free Large Breed Puppy recipe has been formulated with a lower crude protein and crude fat content, so that the lower energy density helps to optimise the rate of growth. The recipe has also been formulated with a balanced level of calcium and phosphorus, reducing the risk of developing skeletal malformations.

Is there any palm oil in MyPeSays dog foods?

Palm oil has bad reputation as it's a major cause of deforestation which impacts not only the climate but also a lot of species.

We are proud to confirm that ALL our recipes are palm-oil free.

What are the benefits of Omega 3 for dogs?

Omega- 3 fatty acids are very important fats that mammals must get from their diets. Two key omega- 3’s are Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

EPA has anti- inflammatory properties whilst DHA plays a structural role and is found is the brain and eyes.

To provide pets with the omega 3 they need, a lot of our recipes (especially Grain Free)  contain an ‘Omega- 3 supplement’ derived from fish oils. Our fish oils are high quality, responsibly sourced and rich in both EPA & DHA. Omega- 3 is also added to help support healthy skin and coat as well as cognitive and visual development.
